Thank you for viewing this monthly case scenario for the EP Device Implant Registry, where we will be reviewing information related to public reporting. ACC's public reporting helps institutions bridge gaps between science and practice to improve the quality of cardiovascular care delivery. To review the ACC public reporting program, please access the link displayed on the slide. The ACC public reporting page also provides details related to the public reporting program. These include the program requirements and consent forms for registries that offer public reporting. ACC's Find Your Heart a Home tool, hosted on CardioSmart.org, leverages voluntary public reporting to bring reliable and valid quality information directly to consumers. Once you access the CardioSmart.org link shown, click Find Your Heart a Home, and you will be able to display your facility's public reporting score on a number of measures and metrics. Now let us locate the public reporting dashboard. After logging into the EP Device Implant Registry and selecting Dashboard, select Public Reporting. This display brings up the Public Reporting tab. Please use the slicer menu to select the ending time frame. You can toggle between site and state. On the display, you can review the calendar year, DQR status, and aggregation date. Review the site MyValue p-score of 97.2 for metric key 1368, proportion of ICD-CRTD implants, patients with left ventricular systolic dysfunction who are prescribed ACE inhibitor ARB or ARN E therapy as eligible at discharge. The state rating is displayed here. The performance, or p-score, on the public reporting dashboard indicates a score of 97.2%, while the eReports dashboard reveals an observed rate of 97.29% for metric key 1368, formerly metric 4. Our question is, why is the reported score for metric key 1368, formerly metric 4, in the facility dashboard different from the p-score? Number one, there is a mistake with the NCDR reports. Number two, the p-score is calculated using statistical models. Or number three, publicly reported metrics are not calculated based on a rolling four-quarter R4Q time frame. Please take a moment to select the best answer from the available options. And the correct answer is number two. The p-score is calculated using statistical models. The metric score and the p-score are both calculated based on the snapshot of data at the time of the quarter four data deadline. However, the metric score and p-score are calculated differently. The p-score is calculated using a statistical model and accounts for variations in hospital volumes. The NCDR public reporting companion guide can be located by selecting the blue hyperlink click here for scoring details. In addition, the facility's current participating status is also displayed. The data publishing eligibility criteria will be assessed at the time of report aggregation. This means that if a site resubmits data after the aggregation has occurred, the resubmission will not be considered in determining the site's data publishing eligibility. If the resubmission occurs before report aggregation, then that resubmission will be considered in determining the site's data publishing eligibility. Public reporting is voluntary, however, there are several requirements to participate. To be considered for public reporting for the EP device implant registry, the facility must have a minimum of three quarters with a green submission status and at least 11 cases submitted per calendar year. The number of required cases to be submitted varies by registry. Once this criteria has been met, the facility must provide a one-time consent for each participating registry, which can be revoked at any time. After the consent is submitted to NCDR, it takes the business support team up to 12 business days to process. The facility's data will appear in CardioSmart within 24 hours after the consent has been fully processed. The public reporting dashboard is updated annually based on the previous calendar year of data pulled after the Q4 data deadline and will be available sometime in the fall. Once available, an announcement will be posted on the homepage of the EP device implant registry as participants have 30 days to review the data before it is updated on CardioSmart. Thank you for viewing the EP device implant registry October 2024 case scenario.
Video Summary
The video discusses the ACC’s EP Device Implant Registry focused on public reporting to enhance cardiovascular care. It explains how institutions can access and interpret their public reporting scores using ACC's tools like the "Find Your Heart a Home" tool on CardioSmart.org. The video details navigating the reporting dashboard and understanding metrics such as the p-score, which is calculated using statistical models. It outlines the public reporting program's requirements, including data submission criteria, consent processes, and the annual update schedule. It emphasizes the difference between metric scores and p-scores and offers resources for further details.
