This is the IMPACT Registry November 2022 case scenario where we will review sequence number 6010, systemic ventricular systolic pressure. A patient presents with hypoplastic right heart syndrome and pulmonary atresia. A diagnostic cath is performed and a right ventricular pressure is measured at 123 over 22 with moderate HRHS. No left ventricular pressures were obtained. Our question, is the right ventricular pressure of 123 coded as the ventricular systolic pressure for sequence 6010? Number one, no. Or number two, yes. Please take a few moments to review the documentation and the question before making your final selection. And the answer is number one, no. The intent of sequence number 6010 systemic ventricular systolic pressure is to capture the left ventricular pressure. As this patient has a functional left ventricle, not assessed as selected in the given scenario. Some additional information, in scenarios where the patient has only one functional ventricle, either right or left, then that pressure is coded for sequence number 6010, systemic ventricular systolic pressure. Thank you for viewing the IMPACT Registry monthly case scenario for November of 2022, where we discuss sequence number 6010, systemic ventricular systolic pressure.
Video Summary
In this video, the IMPACT Registry discusses a case scenario involving sequence number 6010, which focuses on systemic ventricular systolic pressure. The patient in question has hypoplastic right heart syndrome and pulmonary atresia. During a diagnostic cath procedure, the right ventricular pressure is measured at 123 over 22 with moderate HRHS, but no left ventricular pressures are obtained. The question posed is whether the right ventricular pressure of 123 should be coded as the ventricular systolic pressure for sequence 6010. The answer is no. This is because sequence 6010 is intended to capture the left ventricular pressure, and as the patient in this scenario has a functional left ventricle that wasn't assessed, the right ventricular pressure should not be coded for this sequence.
