An update to the STS/ACC TVT Registry™ resulted in changes to the data extract function tool, making it incompatible with prior data extracts. This required manual sorting of data, leading to a high risk of misalignment and misrepresentation in reports. A project was launched to add the "TVT Procedure Pathway" to every spreadsheet in the registry to improve sorting accuracy. However, no reliable process was available, so the team partnered with MISHC and the STS/ACC TVT Registry IT team. As a result, the "TVT Procedure Pathway" identifier was added to the data extract tool within four weeks, reducing the rate of misalignment from 93% to 4% per registered patient. This improvement allows TVT sites to confidently present data and identify opportunities for process improvement, leading to better outcomes and best practices. The goal now is to align all data across consecutive version data extracts. This collaborative endeavor involved the University of Michigan Health Frankel Cardiovascular Center, Beaumont Health Spectrum Health System, MISHC, and the STS/ACC TVT Registry. Adding the "TVT Procedure Pathway" identifier to the data extract tool adds value to transcatheter valve programs by improving efficiency and accuracy of data analysis.
