Video Summary
April 2026 CAF PCI Registry case reviews how to code sequence 5200 (stress test performed) for a staged PCI. A 50-year-old woman with hypertension and type 2 diabetes develops exertional chest tightness and has a high-risk positive exercise stress test. Diagnostic cath on Feb 6 shows severe multivessel disease; PCI to mid-LAD is done and she is discharged with a plan for staged PCI. She returns March 2 for staged PCI to proximal circumflex with no interim stress test. Sequence 5200 for March 2 is coded “Yes.” However, metric 4462 excludes this case from the denominator because multivessel procedure type is “staged PCI.”
