Welcome to this brief overview of the data quality report process for the ChessPain MI Registry version 3.1. The ChessPain MI Registry offers two dataset options for abstraction. Selecting the full dataset means the entire dataset is completed as applicable for the patient type, greatly reducing the overall data abstraction effort. The pre-admit STEMI patient type has 40 less data elements to abstract than version 3.0. It is designed for facilities providing comprehensive care to all cardiac patients. The STEMI referral facility dataset is a subset of the dataset which is completed as applicable for the patient type. Designed for facilities who transfer patients to PCI-capable centers. NCDR participants are encouraged to submit data early to obtain a green or passing status and meet the scheduled data deadline. To achieve this, participants may submit data as often as it is necessary. Be aware that each data submission for a specific quarter will override the previous submission for that same quarter. When moving between the ACC data collection tool and a third-party software vendor tool, make sure all data is within the same data collection tool, so all patients are part of your final submission for that quarter. If your facility has no eligible patients for submission during any specific quarter, please proceed in submitting the empty quarter to confirm a zero patient population. There are multiple options when submitting data to the DQR. First, select the dataset. If you are not a STEMI referral facility, please select the full dataset. Second, select the patient population your facility has determined they will submit. All patient types including STEMI, NSTEMI, unstable angina, and low-risk chest pain, or NSTEMI and STEMI patient types only, or the STEMI patient type only. Finally, if the facility is submitting all patient types, is the facility going to sample the low-risk chest pain and unstable angina patient types? If the facility decides to sample, they can sample either the low-risk chest pain or unstable angina patient type, or both. To review, if your facility is not a STEMI referral facility, select full dataset and download the corresponding data collection tool. The full dataset is designed for centers providing comprehensive cardiac care. Please note, the NCDR has reduced the number of data elements for the pre-admit patient type by 40 elements. We have also streamlined data collection by patient type, so only the pertinent data elements are captured. All patient types include all patients who meet inclusion criteria and are included in the submission file. This option provides executive summary metric feedback, comprehensive detail line information, supports chest pain center accreditation, public reporting, and eligibility for platinum, gold, or silver performance awards. Selecting no to sampling indicates all low-risk chest pain and unstable angina patient types will be included in the submission file. Selecting yes to sampling indicates either the low-risk chest pain or unstable angina patient type, or both, will be sampled. NSTEMI STEMI type submission file includes only the STEMI and NSTEMI patient types who meet inclusion criteria. This provides the facility with executive summary metric feedback, supports public reporting, and eligibility for platinum, gold, or silver performance awards. The last option is the STEMI type submission file, which includes only the STEMI patients who meet inclusion criteria. To review further, if your facility is a STEMI referral facility, select STRF and download the corresponding data collection tool. All patient types include all patients who meet inclusion criteria and are included in the submission file. This option provides executive summary metric feedback, comprehensive detail line information, and supports chest pain center certification. Thank you for viewing this chest pain MI version 3.1 training overview of the data quality report process.
Video Summary
The video provides an overview of the data quality report process for the ChessPain MI Registry version 3.1. The registry offers two dataset options based on facility type. The full dataset, for comprehensive cardiac care centers, has reduced data elements and streamlined collections by patient type. The STEMI referral facility dataset, for transferring patients to PCI-capable centers, is a subset. Participants are encouraged to submit data early and frequently to maintain a passing status. Data submission protocols and sampling options for various patient types (STEMI, NSTEMI, unstable angina, low-risk chest pain) are also discussed to meet reporting and accreditation requirements.
