Welcome to Lesson 2 of ACC's Electrophysiology Accreditation Overview covering tool functionality. I am Bobby Biney and I will be narrating this presentation. Our objectives for this module are to define the functionality of the tool, review the features for reaccrediting facilities, and understand when and how to utilize this new functionality. As a reminder, there are detailed guides which can be found under the Additional Resources tab. The option to bypass the baseline gap analysis is available to reaccrediting facilities. When utilizing the term bypassing the baseline gap analysis, we are referring to three sections, autofilling of the foundational information, autofilling of the contacts, and bypassing the essential components section in this phase. The next few slides will review the bypass baseline gap analysis features which apply to reaccrediting facilities only. If your facility is seeking their initial EP accreditation, this option will not be available initially, however, it will be available upon renewal. To best describe this process, we will start from the home page or landing page. We will zoom in on the menu to the left side of the page. Now that we are zoomed in on the menu, we will select the facility information. From there, we will click on foundational information, which will then provide the option to copy the information from the prior accreditation. Clicking on yes will copy the information from the previous accreditation and serve as your acknowledgement that the information remains up to date. Clicking on no will provide the option to enter the information manually. Following that same process, we will now select electronic health records. As you can see, that same option presents itself under this section. Make your selection here, just as was done in the previous section. As was done in the previous section, you will follow the same process in completing the contact section as well. Click on each contact and make your selection as appropriate. If the specific contact was not filled in previously, then no information will transfer over. Information will need to be added as appropriate. Again, for facilities in pursuit of reaccreditation, documents uploaded in the previous accreditation will automatically port over to the new accreditation application. To locate them, simply click on supporting documents from the left side of the menu. As you see, there are two tabs here, one for current documents, which are documents uploaded during the current accreditation application, and another for historical documents, which are documents uploaded during the previous accreditation. Only documents in approved status or unread status will port over to the new application. The historical documents are available as a reference and cannot be attached to any essential components in the current application. After navigating the Facility Information tab and the Contacts tab, the next tab on the list is Essential Components. When clicking on Essential Components, a pop-up will appear asking whether you would like to bypass answering the essential components. Clicking Yes will auto-answer each one with an N.A. Clicking No will default to the pathway of answering each essential component to complete the baseline gap analysis. Refer to the tool guide found at the left menu under Additional Resources for more information. Once a reaccrediting facility moves beyond the baseline phase and into the application phase, the ability to attest to designated essential components is available. In the menu in Governance, at EC1M1A, you can see the Attest as Current section here. By clicking on the Attest as Current caret, this brings up a drop-down. By selecting Yes, you are stating, or attesting, that the document uploaded in the prior accreditation still demonstrates current practice without changes. This will place an N.A. in the Currently Met column. There is no generic need to upload a supporting document pending review from your accreditation review specialist. Looking at that same essential component, selecting No to the Attest as Current section will simply take you along the normal pathway of answering Yes to the Currently Met column and uploading a supporting document. Finally, looking at EC1M2A, you can see that this is one of the ECs designated as Not Attestable. These ECs will be grayed out in that section with an N.A. located there. You will simply follow the normal pathway in completing these essential components, answer Yes under the Currently Met column, and upload a supporting document. This concludes Lesson 202. Thank you for your participation.
Video Summary
In Lesson 2 of ACC's Electrophysiology Accreditation Overview, Bobby Biney explains tool functionalities for reaccrediting facilities. The module defines tool usage, reviews features, and guides the bypass of the baseline gap analysis, including autofilling foundational info and contacts. Facilities seeking initial accreditation can't use the bypass option initially. Detailed guides are provided under Additional Resources. The process includes navigating menus, autofilling previous accreditation data, and attesting documents. Specific sections must still be manually completed if not previously filled. The lesson covers essential component attesting and document uploads, concluding with normal completion pathways for non-attestable components.
