Welcome to this learning activity titled NCDR Dashboard Functionality. The content in this presentation was developed by Shelley Conine, Denise Pond, and myself. I am Kristen Young, and I will also be narrating this presentation. The objectives for NCDR Dashboard Functionality include applying a systematic approach for dashboard navigation, locating additional resources on the dashboard, and identifying metric details. By selecting Dashboard from the left navigation menu, the user is taken directly to the landing page of the eReports dashboard. The navigation bar at the top of the page allows ease of access to the following areas within the registry but outside of the dashboard. These include the Administration tab, the Data tab, and the Resources tab. A facility's quarterly submission status is easily available on the eReports landing page. The Data Quality Report tab provides a link to the DQR Submission Results page to review date, time, and status of all quarterly submissions. The Submission Filter provides accessibility to all base or follow-up submissions. The facility's quarterly submission detail information includes benchmark inclusion status and population status. It is listed left to right. At a glance, the dashboard provides the date and time of the latest DQR submission. This is general information and not quarter-specific. The DQR submission status provides information for the most recent six quarters and will not change when selecting a different ending time frame. Right here, 2019 Q2 and 2019 Q1 demonstrate that no data was submitted, whereas the remaining quarters have a green submission status. The hamburger icon will always appear directly below the top navigation bar. When the hamburger icon is selected, an expanded drop-down list will appear. Within the hamburger icon and under Dashboards, the user will find eReports, which includes all metrics, the Comparator, which is a tool for comparing your facility's metric performance against a subset of registry hospitals, and a Provider-Level Dashboard, which provides physician-level reporting specific to your facility. Under Additional Reports, the user will find Detailed Outcomes Reports in a PDF or Excel format, Hospital Public Reporting Measures with relevant resource documents for the report, and other registry-specific reports. Under File and Downloads, the user will find File Delivery, which is used for NCDR communication with participants. The facility will be notified by email to retrieve specific, secure files delivered, and Release Notes Report, which provides a link to access all Historical Outcome Report changes. The Excel and PDF tabs allow for exporting of any current dashboard view based on user preference. Filter functionalities are available in Enhanced Dashboard Review. The View Filter allows the user to access all Executive Summary metrics or only those that are bookmarked. The Ending Timeframe Filter will display your hospital's performance in a selected quarter for the rolling four-quarter period identified by the ending timeframe. For example, if the user selects the ending timeframe of 2019-Q2, the rolling four-quarter displayed will include 2019-Q2, 2019-Q1, 2018-Q4, and 2018-Q3. Quarters identified as not published have not yet appeared in a Published Outcomes Report. Quarters without a notation have appeared in a Published Outcomes Report. The Category Filter allows the user to view all categories of measures and metrics specific to each registry outlined in the Outcomes Report Companion Guide. When selecting an unpublished or not published quarter in the ending timeframe, the dashboard will reflect the date of the last metric aggregation. When selecting a published quarter in the ending timeframe, the metric aggregation date will reflect the date of the data deadline for the quarter selected. The eReports page will list all metric numbers and names and provides an at-a-glance view of bullet graphs and performance trends. Quarters and measures are listed with their associated number and description. My Hospital Rolling Four Quarters performance displays a comparison to the registry benchmark. Performance is plotted in a bullet graph. The bullet graph provides the 10th, 25th, 50th, 75th, and 90th percentiles for the metric. The dark blue line demonstrates the facility's performance compared to the U.S. registry aggregate. The Performance Trends displays 2 years or 8 quarters of historical data. When selecting metric detail, the user will be taken to another page shown in the next slide. Metric number and name are provided. When the arrow is selected, the metric description will be displayed. Here, the metric description is displayed. To collapse the metric description, the user will select the arrow. A comparison group performance compares your hospital's Rolling Four Quarters to the U.S. registry 50th percentile and your volume group. Historical performance trends 3 years of data in either a quarterly or Rolling Four Quarters view. When selecting patient details, the user will be taken to another page that gives them the opportunity to review patients and or procedures included in the specific metric denominator. An arrow located in the middle of the page expands a view to allow more choices in filtering, as shown here. When filtering to the patient display, users have the ability to drill down by quarter, patients in the numerator, patients not in the numerator, or all patients in the metric. Once all filtering preferences have been selected, the Retrieve button must be selected to execute the report. Users can export the current page into an Excel file. The Bookmark tab can be used to favorite specific metrics for a concise view of frequently visited measures and metrics. Facility metric performance for the Rolling Four Quarters is plotted in a bullet graph and displayed against a scale that is always arranged in ascending order for every metric. The dark blue line denotes facility performance and will end where the facility's Rolling Four Quarter metric performance appears in relation to all U.S. Registry hospitals. The colors placed in the bullet graph demonstrate desirable performance as dark green and least desirable performance as pale blue and will appear left to right or right to left as determined by the metric. In this metric, the user can see time in minutes is being measured. The least amount of minutes is desirable and denoted by the dark green indicator being on the left. Looking at facility performance, the blue line ends at 57 minutes, which is below the 75th percentile but above the 50th, which is the registry benchmark. We will take a look at another metric. To review, facility performance is displayed against a scale that is always arranged in ascending order for every metric. In this metric, the user can see a percentage is being measured. The higher percentage is desirable and is denoted by the dark green indicator being on the right. Looking at facility performance, the blue line ends at 94.89 percent, which is below the 75th percentile but above the 50th, which is the registry benchmark. The comparator tool allows the user to filter the registry hospitals to create a unique subset and compare facility performance against this group. Filters can be accessed by clicking on the down arrow as shown. Filter capabilities include reporting timeframe, metric, teaching institution, volume group, hospital location, state or territory, and number of certified beds. A report comprised of at least six or more hospitals ensures that hospital performance remains proprietary to the facility. Therefore, a report will not be returned if less than six hospitals are included. Once the desired filter options are selected, click Run Analysis. A report is received that provides facility performance plotted against the comparison group median. The user can click on their hospital's bar graph to obtain a patient-level detail report. This concludes the NCDR dashboard functionality presentation for the ICD, cath PCI, and chest pain MI registries. Thank you for your participation.
Video Summary
