Welcome to this series of instructional videos directed towards onboarding education for our NCDR international community. The content in these lessons was developed by David Bonner and myself. My name is John Giroult and I will also be narrating this lesson. The objectives for this lesson are to deliver a high-level overview of NCDR products, services, and functionalities, highlight core differences that international participants will face within the registries, and to provide default coding for international setup. The NCDR suite of cardiovascular data repositories are designed to be outcomes-based to help hospitals continuously measure and improve the quality care they provide. In the international space, NCDR has been used by a variety of public and private institutions to create a culture of ongoing quality improvement, detect gaps in patient care, and make decisions towards the best use of resources. Overseas, there are clear examples of how institutions have been able to achieve reduction in costs, increases in revenue, and improvement in patient outcomes simultaneously. As an international participant to the American College of Cardiology's National Cardiovascular Data Registry, you can expect to receive a congratulatory enrollment email from our Business Support Operations team. As the registry site manager, you will receive a separate email with your login credentials. If you have any questions or issues understanding what to do with the information you have received, please feel free to contact us at 1-800-257-4737 or via email at ncdr.acc.org. Your login credentials include your participant ID, which is the assigned number for your hospital, your registry site manager username, a temporary password, and your name as the designated registry site manager, or as we reference, RSM. To get started with NCDR, you'll first need to access our website at cbquality.acc.org. Click on the NCDR tab where you'll see Registry Participant Logon. From here, you'll need your participant ID, which is a six-digit number which identifies your facility. This number should be used when contacting NCDR to ensure we are in alignment with our communications. As the registry site manager, you will be assigned a username, which will be your unique user identification to NCDR. Along with your username, you will receive a temporary password, which will need to be changed for security purposes as soon as you gain access to your registry product. You will be prompted to update your password to one of your choosing. Your new password is required to be at least eight characters long and must contain at least one lowercase character, one uppercase character, and one number. Once logged into the private website, please navigate to the Start Here link at the top left navigation bar in the registry. The Start Here link will provide helpful information to you, such as checklists to setting up your registry, which will be beneficial to you as a site manager. For a full presentation of the Start Here link, please access our QII Learning Center. Once you've entered all required information for login to the NCDR registry, simply click Login at the bottom of the page. You'll have an opportunity to change your password to a private, personalized password upon logging in for the first time. If you forget your password once it's been established, simply click Forgot Password and our system will generate assistance for you. If at any time you are having trouble accessing the registry, please make sure you reach out to our Business Support Operations team at 1-800-257-4737 or email us at ncdr at acc.org. After logging into the suite of NCDR data registries, you will have the option of clicking on the registry in which you have chosen to participate. You'll only be able to access registries with which your facility has a completed contract. This concludes our presentation. Thank you for your participation.
