Welcome to this learning activity titled NCDR eReports Health Systems Dashboard Review. The content in this presentation was developed by Thomas Nash. I am Thomas Nash and I will be narrating this presentation. A number of years ago, the ACC developed a new platform to provide an enterprise-wide view into the quality of cardiovascular care provided at multi-hospital organizations. This tool, the eReports Dashboard, provides health systems, states, and other stakeholders with the ability to access all of the data their hospitals receive from NCDR in one central location. Today, we will cover the three main aspects of eReports in support of three main objectives. To examine dashboard functionality and navigation, to highlight the customization capabilities of the dashboard and best practices for utilization, and to review the components of the data quality report or DQR. The first aspect of the dashboard we will cover today is the market analysis landing page. This page allows users to view the performance of individual hospitals or customized markets using a heat map for all executive summary metrics and compare them to national and system-wide benchmarks. Users are able to toggle between different ending timeframes, submission type, submission status, and major categories at the top of the page. This page can also be downloaded as an Excel or PDF file. Users can also bookmark metrics that are of particular interest to their system or relevant to a current initiative by clicking the bookmark icon next to each metric. Users can then view all of their bookmarked metrics by clicking View Bookmarked Metrics in the top right-hand corner of the dashboard. Users can further customize their dashboard by utilizing the My Markets feature. This feature allows you to create individual markets that make sense for your health system. These markets can be defined as individual facilities for smaller or regional systems or divisions or geographic regions for larger national health systems. In order to create these custom markets, users can navigate to the hamburger menu in the upper left-hand corner of the dashboard and select My Markets under the Set Preferences section. Other views of the dashboard are available in the hamburger menu too, including a detail line view. The detail line dashboard gives users a more in-depth view of the various detail lines available in the eReports dashboard. They are broken out by individual quarter and provide a rolling for a quarter rate for your system. Another helpful feature available in the hamburger menu is the Executive Summary Export. This allows users to export data broken down by numerator and denominator for all markets or facilities in your health system for both detail lines and executive summary metrics. Users are then able to compare individual performance to national benchmarks. This export can be downloaded as either an Excel or a CSV file. The Executive Summary dashboard is also available through the hamburger menu. The Executive Summary dashboard allows users to view system-wide performance in each of the executive summary metrics. For each metric, there's a heat map indicating the performance of a system relative to the national average for that metric, as well as a rolling eight-quarter performance trend. In addition to monitoring performance for individual metrics, users can view both procedure and patient volume summaries. Each procedure in these summaries can be drilled into, providing a volume summary for each individual facility in your system. The Data Quality Review, or DQR, summary is also available in the Executive Summary dashboard. For context, data submitted to the NCDR registries receives one of three data submission statuses, which determines if a hospital will receive an outcomes report and whether or not their data is used to calculate the national benchmarks for that quarter. Green submission status indicates the hospital's data met all NCDR data quality and completeness criteria. The hospital will receive an outcomes report, and their data will be used to calculate the national benchmarks for that quarter. Yellow submission status indicates the hospital's data met some of the NCDR data quality and completeness criteria, but failed to meet all criteria. The hospital will receive an outcomes report, but their data will not be used to calculate the national benchmarks for that quarter. Red submission status indicates that the hospital's data did not meet any of the NCDR data quality and completeness criteria. The hospital will not receive an outcomes report, and their data will not be used to calculate the national benchmarks for that quarter. No submission status means that the hospital did not submit any data for that quarter. After submitting data, users can continue to submit data until the call for data deadline for that quarter in an attempt to achieve green data submission status. The call for data deadline varies between four and eight weeks after the end of a quarter, depending on the registry. In order to see a micro-level view of the DQR process at individual facilities within your system, users can click any of the submission status hyperlinks from within the dashboard. For example, if you were to click green in all four quarters, a list of hospitals in your health system that have a green submission status in all four quarters would appear. Users are then able to toggle between different ending timeframes and submission statuses to view various versions of DQR performance for different hospitals in their system. This concludes the NCDR eReports Dashboard Overview presentation. Thank you for your attention.
Video Summary
The video titled "NCDR eReports Health Systems Dashboard Review," narrated by Thomas Nash, explains the features and functionality of the eReports Dashboard. Developed by the American College of Cardiology, this platform provides a comprehensive view of the quality of cardiovascular care in multi-hospital organizations. The dashboard allows users to analyze and compare individual hospital performance using heat maps and national benchmarks. It also offers customization options and the ability to bookmark metrics of interest. Additionally, the video discusses the Data Quality Report (DQR), which categorizes hospitals based on data submission status and explains how to navigate the DQR process at the facility level.
