Video Summary

Two new data elements, sequence 5055 and sequence 5045, have been introduced for mitral clip, mitral replacement, and tricuspid procedures. Sequence 5055 measures non-ventricular paced QRS duration and is coded using a surface 12-lead ECG, but not an intracardiac ECG. If an ECG is unavailable, a rhythm strip or physician documentation can be used. Sequence 5045 determines if only ventricular paced QRS complexes are present. If any intrinsic beats are detected, this data element should be coded as NO. Again, when an ECG is not available, a rhythm strip or physician documentation can be used.
