An Overview of the PINNACLE Registry
Purpose
The PINNACLE Registry is cardiology's largest outpatient quality improvement registry, capturing data on coronary artery disease, hypertension, heart failure and atrial fibrillation. With easy-to-interpret reports that help inform quality improvement, you can benchmark your quality using guideline-based performance measures. Data are captured through a secure HIPAA-compliant data collection tool that works with most electronic health record systems. PINNACLE Registry participants gain access to NCDR’s suite of clinical toolkits to help clinicians implement best practice care to address common quality issues at your facility.   The purpose of this course is to provide participants and clinicians with a more in-depth understanding of the PINNACLE registry.  This understanding will help engage the end user as we move towards the future using data registries as a tool to promote quality performance and improvement as a foundation.  This understanding will also allow the end user to feel more empowered to champion the PINNACLE Registry based on their increased knowledge.  These recordings in this course are designed to support participants in that effort where participants will:
  • Define the scope and impact of the registry in the outpatient setting.
  • Use the registry for quality improvement and federally mandated programs.
