CathPCI Registry Metric 45 - Cardiac Rehab Referral - CE
Purpose
Statement of Need

Registry Participants need to understand how to correctly apply the Cardiac Rehab data definition/coding instructions to case scenarios to ensure accurate data capture.  Registry participants need to be able to interpret their Cardiac Rehab Metric results to inform them of opportunities for improvement.  NCDR Participants will have a greater understanding of how to correctly collect and interpret Cardiac Rehab Referral data as well as implement quality improvement initiatives.  Participants will have a focused educational track which will measure their competency via pre- and post-test questioning. The goal is to improve their overall understanding of Cardiac Rehab Referral.

Overall Goal

These recordings are designed to support participants in that effort and will:   

  • Participants will increase understanding of the reasoning, rationale, and importance of utilization of cardiac rehab services. 

  • Participants should have fewer questions regarding how real-world scenarios are coded with respect to Seq# 10116 (Cardiac Rehab Referral).

  • Participants will obtain a greater understanding of necessary documentation to meet cardiac rehab definition requirements.

  • Participants should have fewer questions regarding why patients appear or do not appear in the numerator/denominator of Metric 45 (Cardiac Rehab Referral). 

  • Participants should be able to incorporate smart phrase terminology into their practice.
