This session will describe how atrial fibrillation (AF) can affect patient quality of life and the role of AF ablation in improving quality of life. Hear from the VIBRANT-AF research team about their unique approach to linking registry data and patient-reported symptoms via smartphone app.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe symptoms associated with atrial fibrillation, their effect on patients’ quality of life, and the role of ablation in addressing them.
  • Discuss new follow-up data elements and metrics in the NCDR AFib Ablation Registry and explain how symptom improvements can be assessed using the AFEQT questionnaire.
  • Show the value of patients reporting symptom data via smartphone app in the VIBRANT-AF study and how your site can participate.
