Purpose

The course recordings and materials present the basics of quality improvement and aim to help participants implement QI projects that affect change at their institutions.

Learning Objectives:

Throughout this course, we will review and highlight the significance and use of:

• Explain the Model for Improvement, Profound Theory of Knowledge, concept of the IHI Development, purpose of the Key Driver Diagram and the Breakthrough Collaborative Series.
• Describe the importance of an improvement team.
• Define variation and its role in quality improvement and provide examples and tools to deepen understanding and learning from variation. 
• Explain “physiology” interpretation, and use of the funnel plot, including a review of ACPC Quality Network data to inform learning strategies.
