The relationships that PCI and PCI referral hospitals have with EMS organizations in their region impacts patient outcomes and it also impacts hospitals operationally, politically, and financially. This course provides hospitals with insights on how they can better support EMS field crews, EMS administrators, and EMS medical directors. The course also touches on how EMS and better support hospitals. 

Overall Goal 

These recordings are designed to support participants in that effort and: 

• Learners will be able to better describe and discuss the elements of an EMS system and the roles that the different organizations play in supporting high-quality patient care. 

• Learners will be able to better support the 9-1-1 communication centers, non-transport medical first response agencies, ambulance services, EMS regulatory agencies, and EMS medical directors. 

• Learners will be able to review the activities of their hospitals to see if there are additional ways to support EMS clinicians and EMS agencies. 

• Learners will be able to avoid anti-kick-back issues in how they support EMS agencies.
