As The Ralph G. Brindis Lecture keynote, Dr. Douglas will focus specifically on processes of patient care related to all procedures, using imaging as an example (patient selection, procedure/test selection, outcomes). Much of NCDR activity focuses on the actual procedure itself, yet the data gleaned from registries and accreditation can help us to improve care before and after the procedure/imaging test which is required to ensure that the benefits from imaging/procedures is maximized. This is highly relevant to our general audience.

• Recognize how patient and test/procedure selection and care after procedure/testing are integral to the quality of the test/procedure and can affect patient outcomes.
• Recognize that not all symptomatic patients may need testing/procedure.
• Distinguish the pros and cons of the different tests available for the evaluation of stable chest pain patients and how they  impact findings in the catheterization laboratory.
