Video Transcription
Sequence 5227, Cardiac CTA Results, is indicating the most recent results of the cardiac CTA performed between birth and the current procedure. This is a multiple select field as more than one condition can be seen among all the coronary arteries and their branches. Obstructive CAD would be coded when there is greater than or equal to 50% luminal diameter narrowing of an epicardial artery or left mean stenosis. Non-obstructive CAD would be coded when there is less than 50% luminal diameter narrowing of an epicardial or left mean stenosis. Unclear severity would be coded when coronary artery disease severity is unclear or conflicting. Cardiopulmonary artery disease would be coded when there is an abnormality of the heart that is non-coronary, meaning that it does not affect the blood vessels in the heart but rather involves the valves, walls, or chambers. No CAD would be coded when there is no evidence of coronary artery disease. If the results of the cardiac CTA are unknown, Sequence 5228, 8, Cardiac CTA Results Unknown, would be selected instead.
Video Summary
Sequence 5227 discusses Cardiac CTA results and the coding criteria for different conditions related to coronary artery disease (CAD), such as obstructive CAD, non-obstructive CAD, unclear severity, cardiopulmonary artery disease, and no CAD. The results may show varying degrees of luminal diameter narrowing in the coronary arteries, and different codes are used based on the severity and type of abnormalities detected. If the severity of CAD is unclear or conflicting, a specific code is used. Additionally, if the cardiac CTA results are unknown, a different sequence, 5228, is selected instead.
