Intra or Post-Procedure Event Types - Cardiac Tamponade

Cardiac tamponade is captured when a patient experiences fluid in the pericardial space compromising cardiac filling and requiring intervention.  Tamponade must be documented by either one echocardiogram showing pericardial fluid and  signs of tamponade such as right heart compromise or two systemic hypertension, excuse me, systemic hypotension due to pericardial fluid compromising cardiac function.
